Real Understanding, Real Hope, Real Change.

Counsellor and specialist Addiction Therapist - Supporting people through addiction, stress, anxiety, and the struggles that feel too heavy to carry alone.

Welcome to ABT Counselling

Are you relying on alcohol or drugs to cope?

Maybe you’ve told yourself, “just one more time and then I’ll stop”—but by the next evening, you’re using again.

Or perhaps you’re feeling stuck in life

Struggling with low mood, anxiety, or a sense of being lost? If so, you’re not alone. Many people feel this way, and the good news is—you don’t have to stay stuck. With the right support, change is possible.

I’m here and I want to help you.

About Me:

Hi, I’m Anna—founder of ABT Counselling, and a BACP-registered counsellor with a Postgraduate Diploma in Addiction Psychology and Counselling. Alongside my professional training, I bring something equally important—I’m a counsellor with lived experience.

Why Choose ABT Counselling?

A counsellor who truly understands

Yes, I’m a qualified counsellor and therapist—but first and foremost, I’m a fellow human being. I’ve walked a similar path. I know what it’s like to battle addiction, to carry the weight of trauma, and to feel hopeless about the future.

Real empathy, real hope

Because of my own lived experience, I offer more than theory and techniques—I bring genuine empathy, compassion, and understanding. I know what it takes to heal, to rebuild, and to discover joy again.

Living proof that change is possible

I am living proof that no matter how dark things may seem, it is possible to turn life around. My role is to hold hope for you until you’re ready to believe in it yourself, and to walk alongside you as you begin your own journey of recovery and growth.

What You Can Expect:

I offer, in person 50-minute sessions in Worthing and Lancing. Additionally, I offer online and worldwide therapy sessions via Team, Zoom, WhatsApp and facetime.

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone

Whatever you're going through, whatever difficulties you are experiencing, you don’t have to face it alone. I'm here to support you with real understanding and real hope.

My Approach:

I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to explore whatever you’re going through — whether that’s addiction, trauma, or just feeling stuck.

My work is compassionate, down-to-earth, and centred around you. I bring deep empathy through my own lived experience and sometimes use gentle self-disclosure to help reduce shame and build trust — always with clear boundaries.

I’m integratively trained, which means I use a mix of different therapy types, allowing me to tailor our work to your unique needs, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Together, we’ll work at your pace to build self-understanding, reconnect with your values, and make meaningful, lasting change.

Types of Therapy available:

I specialise in supporting people struggling with addiction — whether that’s to substances like alcohol or drugs, or behaviours like gambling, shopping, or gaming.

As an integrative therapist, I also work with a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges, including:

Anxiety

Depression

Trauma

Low Self-esteem

Low Confidence

Stress

Autism

ADHD

Individual Addiction Therapy:

Seeking help for addiction can feel overwhelming and often brings up feelings of shame, embarrassment, and stigma. You’re not alone — and reaching out is a brave first step.

Individual addiction therapy is a safe, private space where you can explore what’s behind your addictive behaviours without judgment. Together, we’ll work on understanding your triggers, developing healthier coping skills, and setting realistic goals that fit your unique journey toward recovery.

What Is Individual Therapy for Mental Health?

Taking the step to seek therapy can feel difficult, especially when dealing with feelings like anxiety, depression, stress, or past trauma. You’re not alone, and help is available.

Individual therapy is a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly about what’s troubling you. Together, we’ll work on understanding your experiences, developing coping strategies, and building the skills to improve your mental wellbeing — all at a pace that feels right for you.

What Is Home Rehab?

Home rehab is an effective and flexible alternative to residential rehab. It offers the benefits of intensive addiction counselling right in the comfort and privacy of your own home — and at a fraction of the cost.

Over the course of one month, you’ll receive personalised daily therapy sessions, ongoing support, and practical tools to help you build a strong foundation for recovery — all tailored specifically to your needs.

Walk and Talk Therapy

Walk-and-talk therapy gives you all the benefits of counselling, but in a calm, outdoor setting. Being in nature can help reduce anxiety, lift your mood, and make it easier to open up naturally.

Walking side by side feels less intense than sitting face-to-face, making it easier to find clarity, balance your emotions, and feel grounded, with nature around as your backdrop.

Fees:

My fee is £65 per 50-minute session, whether conducted in person, online (via Teams or Zoom), or by telephone.

I also offer a limited number of reduced-fee sessions to support those facing financial difficulties. These are available subject to availability. Please feel free to email or call me if you’d like to discuss your situation in more detail.
